The Sayonara Party 24th July 2013

Dear friends

We have just had an amazing evening. So much joy, fun, good food and wonderful people. This year`s group are regarded highly by their hosts and it showed tonight. We met at a large hotel in central Matto and there were a sumptuous meal with many courses punctuated by speeches from the Mayor, yours truly, Iestyn and others. There was also THE definitive performance of the dance by the now famous Boston Dance Company and a song from the Hakusan host students. Then we signed a few shirts, and had our pictures taken, then signed a few more shirts....... There was even a presentation of a thank you card to both staff with a photograph which we will treasure. It was certainly a very happy evening and it was a delight to be with such a fine group of students. As parents you should feel a real sense of pride for the excellent behaviour and the superb contribution from each group member to the success of the exchange. Thank you to all concerned. I will not be able to contribute a blog during our two days in Tokyo but will have my phone on `roaming` should you need to get in touch. I will, of course provide a blog concerning our time in Tokyo when I get back to Boston.

Thank you to all our friends in Hakusan for making it possible for us to come and visit you.

  1. Hi Everyone
You all really enjoyed your party, that is evident from the lovely pictures.
Tomorrow/today you have the efficiency of the bullet train and the contrast of the city of Tokyo. I look forward to the update when you all get home.
That just leaves me to wish you all a safe journey and fun in tokyo.

  2. It must have been hard to say goodbye after such an amazing time. It has been wonderful to see what has been happening day by day especially as everyone has looked so happy. I'm glad to know I'm not the only parent feeling a few twinges of envy!

I hope the visit to Tokyo goes well.
